Sailing Camp

Nor’Banks Youth Sailing Camps

Nor’Banks has been teaching sailing on the Outer Banks since 1979 with an active youth certification program since 2012. Our experienced and professional staff of US Sailing Instructors, excellent fleet of sailboats, superior location, warm shallow waters and steady breezes combine to make Nor’Banks the best location on the Outer Banks to learn Sailing. The goal of our camps is to provide an exciting and fun experience during which students develop sailing skills, learn seamanship, gain self-confidence and most importantly have Fun! Since 2017 we have teamed up with East Coast Sailboats to run our youth camps. Hardy Peters and the East Coast Sailboats crew specialize in youth sailing.

2020 Youth Sailing Camp – June 22nd to 26th

A sailing camp for children aged 8 to 14, this is great for beginning sailors, those with little or no experience. This camp is focused on the fundamentals of sailing, fun, skill development and confidence on the water. If your child attended camp with us last year and has not sailed much since, this camp is perfect. Camp runs for 5 days from 9am – 3pm.

Campers are required to know how to swim and come prepared each day to camp to learn and have fun on the water.  Once the camper has been signed up we will forward all the necessary paperwork to be filled out prior to camp and forward further details

Please call, 252-489-3491 if you have any questions. Online reservations are now open at eastcoastsailboats.com.

Typical Camp Day

This schedule is our typical plan, but the ever-changing Outer Banks weather can create updates along the way. Our first goal is to keep the campers safe and having fun while spending as much time on the water as possible.

Parents are welcome to come and watch these sessions at any time. We have a comfortable area for families to sit and watch the sailing.

Students should plan to bring lunch, and we provide water and snacks. All snacks are peanut free, but let us know if there are any other allergy concerns. Changing rooms and showers are available for students and guests.

We are happy to talk to parents about the program at anytime and help answer any questions. Upon registration, students and parents receive a detailed packet of forms, which will go over all the details.
